One Year of Dreams Becoming Reality | One Year Blogging Anniversary

Today is a huge milestone for me. One year ago today, I pushed publish on my very first blog post! That one little click was really hard to make, it symbolized the ending of one era of my life and the beginning of the next one. It was the first of many dreams to become a reality in that year. Blogging has changed my life for the better and I will always be grateful for that!

I’m so happy I took that leap of faith and made that very first blog. I had no idea what I was doing. WordPress was this huge unknown for me. I had no idea how to set up a website, I picked a simple template that I liked, changed the heading picture, added a few words here and there wrote a post, pushed publish and announced it on social media. Blogging was this brand new adventure that I had thought about for a long time. And suddenly, it was a reality.

That First Blog Post Was Really Bad

I look back on it and laugh now. It was a recipe for ‘Basil Garlic Chicken.’ Even though it was bad, it still holds a special place in my heart because that was the post that started all of this. If I hadn’t made it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. When we re-branded, all the recipes got removed from the site because they no longer fit our branding so you can’t find this recipe anymore.

Now a year later, I have a website that I’m proud of. It took weeks to create and a lot of fears had to be fought along the way, but I’m so happy with how far this little blog has gotten me in such a short amount of time.

I’ve learned so much about blogging and my writing has improved drastically. It’s amazing what writing something pretty much every day can do to help you grow as a writer.

Many Dreams Have Become a Reality in Those 365 Days.

  • I grew a lot as a person in that year.
  • Grew a following on multiple social media platforms
  • Cooked a lot of food
  • Lost friends and I gained friends.
  • Drew a lot of stuff
  • Learned what a true friend looks like.
  • Cried a lot of tears
  • Ate a lot of food
  • Shared a lot of laughs
  • Graduated Highschool
  • Made a lot of cakes
  • Learned a lot about blogging
  • Wrote a lot of articles – this will be the 100th article I’ve published on a personal blog. (Many of those articles got removed in the rebrand and this is the 62nd blog post on here.)
  • Became a content writer for someone I’ve admired for a long time.
  • Exercised a ton
  • Found a lot of great bands
  • Enjoyed single life
  • Found contentment

Blogging has Given Me a lot of Things

More than a list of accomplishments, I gained a community. Through this blog and social media, I’ve gained a lot of friends. I never thought I would get to know so many people I’ve never actually met. I can’t wait to see this community grow. There are so many amazing people here.

I get tears in my eyes whenever I think about what I’m doing every day. This community, website, and blog is my biggest dream. I’m 19-years-old and my dreams are becoming a reality.

Happiness is the biggest thing I’ve gained in the past year. God taught me a lot about contentment and as a result, He’s blessed me with abundant happiness. Of course, there are days where I’m not as happy and I have to fight to be productive and to remind myself that what I’m doing does matter. But overall, I’m happy.

I would never have imagined the goals that I have for Daring to Inspire that I have now. I’ve realized that this website is probably going to be a lot bigger someday then I could have ever imagined. I’m not ready to share all of those dreams because I know they’re going to change.

I’m so excited that you’re joining me on this adventure! Thank you for joining me on this adventure! I can’t wait to see where the next year takes us!

Soli Deo Gloria,
Heather
